Professional Experience:
Data Center Consultant, TICG October 2005 – Present
Founder and President of Technology Infrastructure Consultants Group, California Corporation #2803347. California State Electrical Contracting License (#869418). Provide mid-level economical data center assessments, troubleshoot computer/data center problems, provide recommendations for energy efficiency projects, general project management and equipment relocations. Electrical, network cabling and fiber optic cabling installations.

Technical Consultant, 42U/DirectNet    February 2009 – June 2010
Provide pre-sales technical support to sales force. Performed data center inspections to correct problems and help the customer be more energy efficient. Wrote and edited technical reports before customer presentations were submitted to assure customers got the best possible information written in a format that was aimed at the not-so-technical decision makers.

Wireless - Data Center Analyst, Synapsense    Oct 2007 – Sept 2008
Analyzed data from prototype wireless sensors placed around customer data centers to assess where problems existed. Solved problems using captured data. Created written reports on findings. Worked on prototype cold/hot aisle containment solutions, installed large current transformers to capture power usage and installed CRAH VFD’s.        

Technology Consultant, Hewlett-Packard   9/1979 – 10/2005 (retired)
Hired as a computer field repair Customer Engineer and promoted to supervisor of field repair engineers. Since 1980, focused on power, installation site preparation, grounding and site environment problems. In the early 1990’s was tasked with the $750K wiring portion of a large deal for CalTrans. Project managed the wiring vendors installing the copper and fiber at 14 statewide CalTrans district offices finishing ahead of schedule and under budget. Assigned to work with HP Lab engineers on new cooling products and large computers before they shipped by reviewing site requirements and editing site preparation documents prior to release. The last 10 years at HP was national resource focused on data center projects and troubleshooting for the 11 western states. Due to the need for data center site environment expertise travel was often nationwide and occasionally international.
