Data Center Consultant, TICG October 2005 – Present
Founder and President of Technology Infrastructure Consultants Group, California Corporation #2803347. TICG holds a California State Electrical Contracting Corporate License (#869418). Troubleshoot computer/data center problems and/or provide general data center assessments, energy efficiency projects, project management and equipment relocations. Electrical, network cabling and fiber optic cabling installations.
Technical Consultant, 42U/DirectNet February 2009 – June 2010
Responsible for successful delivery of all data center services projects. Provide pre-sales technical support to sales force. Edit technical documents and reports before customer presentations are submitted. Participant in the 2010 workforce reduction program.
Data Center Analyst, Synapsense October 2007 – September - 2008
Analyzed data from prototype wireless sensors placed around customer data centers to assess where problems existed. Created written reports on findings. Worked on prototype cold/hot aisle containment solutions, installed large current transformers to capture power usage and installed CRAH VFD’s. Participant in the 2008 workforce reduction program.
Technology Consultant, Hewlett-Packard Company 9/1979 – 10-2005 (retired)
Hired as a computer field repair Customer Engineer and promoted to supervisor of field repair engineers. Since 1980, focused on power, installation site preparation, grounding and site environment problems. In the early 1990’s was tasked with the $750K wiring portion of a large deal for CalTrans. Project managed the wiring vendors installing the copper and fiber at 14 statewide CalTrans district offices finishing ahead of schedule and just under budget. More recently worked with factory and HP Lab engineers on new cooling products and large computers before they shipped by reviewing site requirements and editing site preparation documents prior to release. The last 10 years at HP was national resource focused on data center projects and troubleshooting for the 11 western states as a data center site environment specialist and consultant but traveled nationwide and international assignments.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Volunteer Patrol, Search and Rescue Reserve - Since 1975 have worked as a volunteer responding to Search and Rescue missions and routine patrol assignments. Fifteen years of handling man-trailing Bloodhounds on homicide and kidnapping cases.
